Mozart 1991

1991 was the international Mozart-year. While his death was commemorated all over the world, a bloody war was raging in Croatia. These two facts have been brought together in one film. The result is a combination of beautiful music and ghastly war images. The images and music reinforce each other. The pictures sometimes look magnificent, particularly when they are accompanied by the music, but in the meantime there is still a war going on. The spoken texts are from a Mozart biography, but also apply very well to the war situation. Mozart died poor and anonymous, just like many victims of the war.
