Meerzicht

Meerzicht was adapted from a scenario by Annemieke Hendriks, which was declared the best script of the IDFA scenario workshop in 1993. The film is set on the grounds of a complex of summer houses at Lake Kinsel, near Amsterdam. The people staying here are not only holidaymakers. Some residents have been the owners of a house at the lakeside for years. In meerzicht the inhabitants are followed for one season. It is clear that where different cultures live together on a small area of land, interesting relationships can come about, but also flaming rows. Not everyone has the same ideas about recreation, ecology and privacy. The older people tend to have problems with newcomers and vice versa. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
