Astrophotography connects the worlds of art and science in a unique way. The growth of this field was related to the developments in photographic technology until the ambition of a Czech matematician showed the Sun in a brand new light. Our closest star is necessary for mankind’s survival, but the fluctuation of its magnetic field can become our doom. With observations, we attempt to predict anomalies and understand why they happen. An enthusiast and professor of mathematics at VUT Brno, Miloslav Druckmüller wanted to see the more remote objects in greater detail when observing the night sky. Fortunately, he is no stranger to algorithms and his work changed the world of astrophotography beyond recognition. (Academia Film Olomouc)
