What Have You Done to Solange? is a rather slow and lifeless giallo thriller about the murders of Catholic schoolgirls. If it weren’t for the “delicate” way they are murdered, this film would come across as a mediocre TV detective movie. Not even the widescreen cinematography offers any kind of treat; everything else in the film is just dull and uninteresting.

A very good, very slow and not very scary Giallo. It has pretty much all of the Giallo features, but it doesn’t pay enough attention to the murders themselves, which are… well… very unconventional, but there are too few and all together take about three minutes of the entire film. The rest is about the investigation, so this time the horror component takes a clear back seat, but I didn’t mind thanks to the script and the performances, which are very good by Italian standards. Morricone’s music is also excellent, of course.
