Dinosaur Island is a magnificent spectacle packed with special effects made on a shoestring budget – that is, if we take into account Jim Wynorski's memorable words of wisdom, which formed the basis of his creative method: “Breasts are the cheapest special effect in our business.” With enchanting special effects updated for the era of VHS rentals, this joint effort of two ’90s purveyors of video dreck, Wynorski and Olen Ray, is an artlessly tasteless and deliberately ultra-cheap and ostentatiously trashy homage to classic B-movies.
