Zuzanna Solakiewicz (1978) studied humanities at the Warsaw University and film directing at Sam Spiegel Film & TV School in Jerusalem. She has also completed a fellowship at the National Film School in Łódź. As an essayist, she writes on anthropology and Jewish history. She has become familiar with the art of cinema from various professions – an actress, a cinematographer or a set decorator. Some of her short films and documentaries such as Cabaret Poland (Kabaret Polska, 2008), So It Is (Tak to jest, 2010) and Yorzeit (Jorcajt, 2012), have scored success at film festivals around the world. 15 Corners of the World is her feature-length debut.
