Lee Galea is an independent filmmaker based in the west of Melbourne. Lee has written, produced and directed films since 1996. In 2000 Lee had successfully finished a film course at Footscray City Films and his first 16mm short film Pac Man. It was selected for the St Kilda film festival in 2001, by then Lee had written his new film “Karmarama”. It was completed in 2001 and then selected for the St Kilda film festival in 2002. Karmarama was then selected by Queer Screen for distribution. The film was successful in several festivals domestically and internationally including the San Francisco International Lesbian and Gay film festival and Vancouver Queer Film and Video Festival. In 2003, Lee completed his third 16mm short film Jam. The 20 minute short was premiered at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival in 2004. In late 2005, Lee went into production on his first feature film Less Adolescent under his production company Indie Melbourne Productions. Monster Pies (2013), is his second feature film.
