Jonathan Schwartz is the founder and President of Super Crispy Entertainment. Over the past several years, Jonathan has produced movies highlighting writer/director driven quality material, driving Super Crispy Entertainment to be one of the leading independent film production companies. Schwartz has worked with acclaimed veteran writer/directors such as Peter Weir, Michael Haneke and Gregg Araki, as well as talented rising directors such as Sundance Award Winners Drake Doremus, James Ponsoldt and Diane Bell.
Schwartz has produced Sundance Winner LIKE CRAZY (Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones, Jennifer Lawrence), BREATHE IN (Guy Pearce, Felicity Jones and Amy Ryan), Sundance Award Winners SMASHED (Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Aaron Paul, Octavia Spencer) and NOBODY WALKS (written by Lena Dunham and starring John Krasinski and Rosemary DeWitt). Peter Weir's THE WAY BACK (Colin Farrell, Ed Harris, Saorise Ronan), Drake Doremus' DOUCHEBAG, Gregg Araki's Cannes Award Winning KABOOM, Michael Haneke's FUNNY GAMES (Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Michael Pitt), SPOONER (Matthew Lillard) and WRISTCUTTERS, A LOVE STORY (Patrick Fugit, Shannon Sossamon, Tom Waits, John Hawkes). Seven of those films premiered at Sundance, and one at Cannes.
Super Crispy Entertainment completed principal photography on three films: The first, IMPERIAL DREAMS, starring John Boyega, tells the story of a young parent fresh out of jail in Watts, Los Angeles. It premiered at Sundance in 2014 where it received a standing ovation, rave reviews, and the Best of Next Audience Award. Jonathan recently completed photography on THE WILDERNESS OF JAMES, starring Kodi Smit-McPhee, Virginia Madsen and Danny DeVito. Super Crispy continues to develop, finance and produce quality properties, where Jonathan works alongside longtime acclaimed producer Andrea Sperling.
