Benni Diez (b. 1979, Starnberg, Germany) began studies in visual effects and animation at Ludwigsburg's Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in 2002. Even before graduating he got jobs doing postproduction on movies and commercials (e.g. Festina, Audi, Bosch, Snickers). In 2008-2011 he was in charge of the Cologne-based production company Kingz Entertainment, which created special effects for both commercials (e.g. Toshiba, Shell) and features (e.g. Trier's Melancholia). Since 2011 he has worked on his own projects as director and VFX supervisor. Following the shorts Pressure Bolt (Druckbolzen – Forum of Independents, KVIFF 2003) and Kingz (2007), his feature debut as a director is Stung.
