Howard McCain made his big-budget feature debut with the sci-fi action movie Outlander starring Jim Caviezel, John Hurt and Ron Perlman. Prior to that he directed for Showtime, HBO and Disney Channel. He made a name for himself as a go-to action writer, having sold over 25 screenplays to the major US studios. A Boys Life was his first short narrative since attending NYU graduate film school, where his student works won best short at Sundance, Edinburgh and other international film festivals.
