Petr Švéda

Petr Švéda (1944) is a screenwriter and director, born in Zlín, who graduated from FAMU. As an assistant director he's worked on films of other Czech filmmakers, e. g. Věra Chytilová, Jana Kačer and Miloš Zábranský. He also worked on the script to Vít Olmer's comedy The State of Shipwreck (Stav ztroskotání, 1983). The fairy-tale The Brave Blacksmith (O statečném kováři,1983), based on the book by Božena Němcová, is the only film he directed himself as he mainly works as a Czech dubbing director.
