Biografia

He fell in love with films thanks to the summer cinema and the small video store in his town. Graduated from Audiovisual Communication by the University of Malaga, his first short films 3,2 (lo que hacen las novias), Ratas and Rubita already made clear his interest in lonely characters searching for their place in the world. After many national and international awards, he debuted in 2018 with his feature film Animales sin collar, a loose adaptation of Casa de muñecas by Ibsen. After this, he wrote ¿A quién te llevarías a una isla desierta? in 2019, a bittersweet drama about a lost generation that premiered on Netflix, and Las niñas de cristal, a psychological drama about the professional dance world. He also directed TV series such as Días mejores and Urban, both for Prime Video, and Élite, one of the international successes of Netflix. In 2022, he published his first novel El último verano antes de todo, with the publisher Planeta, which was critically acclaimed and which portrays the coming-of-age of a group of friends during the summer of 2000.
