Biografia

Odelsha Agishev born on August 6, 1939 in Tashkent. In 1956 finished the Suvorov College in Tashkent, in 1962 graduated from the department of scriptwriting at VGIK. Agishev made his best films together with the director Elyor Ishmukhamedov. Tenderness”(1967) which won a prize in Locarno, and People in Love (1970), one of the top box-office movies of 1970, made him famous throughout the Soviet Union. He wrote scripts for such memorable movies as Extraordinary Commissar (1971), The Last Encounter (1974), We Are Not That Old! (1980), Youth of a Genius (1984), Human Wind (2006) and the documentary series Legends of the Silver Age, which was lauded with awards at national and international festivals. In 1985 Odelsha Agishev started teaching a scriptwriting class at VGIK. Among his students were Pyotr Lutsik, Alexei Samoriadov, Alexandr Gonorovsky, Ilia Rubinstein, Vladimir Moiseenko. Since 2013 Agishev teaches a class at the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors.
