Harutyun Khachatryan (1955, Akhalkalak, Georgia) graduated from the Film Division of the Department of Culture of the Armenian State Pedagogical University in 1981. Between1981-1986, he worked as an assistant director and director at the Armenian Documentary Studio. Since 1981 Khachatryan works as director. His films, such as Kond (1987), White Town (1988), Return to the Promised Land (1991), Last Station (1994), The Documentarist (2003), Return of the Poet (2006) and Border (2009) were awarded prizes at various International film festivals. Co-founder and the General Director of the Yerevan International Film Festival "Golden Apricot".
