Irene Cardona

Irene Cardona is the director and scriptwriter of the feature film Un novio para Yasmina (A Boyfriend for Yasmina), for which she was nominated for the Goya Award for Best New Director and won important prizes at national and international festivals. She has written and directed numerous short films and documentaries such as Espelho meu (co-director, 2011), Award for Best National Feature Film at Documenta Madrid. After attending the Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV (EICTV) in San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba), the Complutense University of Madrid and the Estudio Corazza para el Actor. She is currently making videos for performing arts and teaching film history and direction at several universities.
