Richard Raaphorst (b. 1971, Netherlands) studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, graduating in 1996 as the director of the short film Zombi 1 (1995). His primary career, however, has been as a conceptual and storyboard artist. He has collaborated among others with renowned horror movie producer and director Brian Yuzna. Since 1995, Raaphorst has been making independent shorts, most of them horror movies. In 2004, he began work on Worst Case Scenario, in which Germany sends an army of zombies to avenge a championship football defeat against the Netherlands. The film was never completed, and so Raaphorst’s feature-length debut came with Frankenstein’s Army.
