Max Manus and the hard life of the Resistance. Although it’s nicely uncompromising, when most of the scenes are about people getting better acquainted with each other, then there’s something wrong. And when any real suspense and fear for the characters is lacking, then in this genre you are totally up the creek. The best in la Résistance pictures are found somewhere else (specifically here and here).

A quality picture that perfectly combines the best of Stephen Knight’s theory about Jack the Ripper (the same that Moore’s From Hell is based on) with characters from the pen of Arthur Conan Doyle. Although Plummer doesn’t make the best Holmes ever, the same as Mason isn’t the best Watson, but the strength of this duo is in mutual chemistry. Which is absolutely perfect, even making up for the fact that no deduction takes place.

Considering Yates managed to get something out of the most superfluous part of the book that ends up not working because of that superfluousness (aka zero action), then I have nothing left to do than look forward to the adaptation of book seven which might at last aspire to toppling Cuarón’s offering from its position of best Harry Potter movie adaptation.

The beginning of the 21st century already has its Deliverance. A perfectly believable and authentic horror film that makes you feel the characters' suffering and it also has something to say. And no, that is not a contradiction.

Not every strangler is born under a lucky star. That also applies to films, and this one is a perfect example. Though the twist made me consider a third star.

A juicy slasher flick that doesn’t want to be more than it can do perfectly, stretched out for an hour and a half.

A low budget "film" about shit (literally), toilets, a homeless Merlin, the almighty cloaca and all things public toilets. This is SO completely out of the category of any guilty pleasure that it's basically worthless.

If it weren't for the final scene in the traffic jam, it would get one star more, because it doesn't lack atmosphere or ideas.

Lots of extraordinary episodes, a mass of average ones and also a couple of really bad ones. A pleasant project where a lot of talented and famous names started out, or gained valuable experience. This includes screenwriters, directors and actors. Its main quality lies in the unforgettable presenter with a very strange sense of humor. Pleasant bedtime viewing for adults on Friday evenings. Split Second (5/5) One of the best episodes. Better not to let on anything about it - just let the Crypt Keeper keep you entertained... Lumberjack sushi roll is on the menu.

Boo! for the opening seventy minutes and a strong four stars for the final twenty minutes, when it finally starts to be what the viewer expects it to be.
