Spadkobiercy (2011)

angielski George Clooney was hoping for an Oscar nomination with this film, which he eventually won, but for me, Brad Pitt in "Moneyball" was better last year. George was still good, especially in terms of being relatable. In the last film I saw with him, "The Descendants," he was a bit distant, but here he showed us all the emotions he is capable of. However, he is not the only one leading the film, it's also his children. Actually, his whole family. Alexander Payne and his team absolutely deserved the Oscar because the story they created is truly unique. Strong, complicated, and well-developed. The character development is excellent, some characters are truly one-of-a-kind, none are the same, they are all unique. Someone like Sid is truly a prime idiot. It's worth watching because of the acting performances, and for me, the strong script as well. It's true that I might have expected a little more. I just don't know how to name it. Maybe even more emotions. More: http://www.filmovy-denik.cz/2012/04/diar-milovnika-filmu-c-0002-zajimave.html

Przygody Tintina (2011)

angielski Steven Spielberg is not my favorite director and I don't think he will ever become one. His attempts to win Oscars, which "War Horse" is for me, are sometimes too obvious, and the time when he made unforgettable movies like "Duel" or "Jaws" is long gone. When Tintin was supposed to come to the big screen, I was excited. But when I found out it was going to be in 3D animation, I refused to go to the cinema. Tintin wasn't worth it to me. When the film finally reached me... I wasn't disappointed, nor was I excited. I appreciated that the Spielberg-Jackson duo filmed my favorite story "The Secret of the Unicorn," but I didn't feel any added value from it. Hergé created a masterpiece, which I confirmed when I read the story. It is interesting, slightly naive, adventurous, and clever. Spielberg wanted to be bombastic. He didn't miss out on an Oscar nomination in that regard. But that's about it. The scene on the ship where Captain Haddock starts a fire amused me. Funny. But the original work still comes out on top for me. If it had been live-action, I probably would have been more ecstatic. Like this...just a nice film. It has quality, there's probably no other way, but it didn't take my breath away. More: http://www.filmovy-denik.cz/2012/04/diar-milovnika-filmu-c-0002-zajimave.html

Państwo młodzi: Chuck i Larry (2007)

angielski After the terrible "Jack and Jill," I wanted to cheer myself up, so I watched this movie. I have to say that I was thrilled. This is the Sandler I like. His jokes are offensive, disgusting, he behaves like a jerk, but you still eat it up. Kevin James shows that he is a great partner, but he can handle the whole film by himself. However, Sandler and him fit perfectly and you can see how good friends they are. And when they're not, they can play it great. A pair of firefighters, one's bad social situation, a registered partnership, and a wedding as the only way out. The plot is far-fetched, but there are excellent cameo roles played by classics such as Rob Schneider, Nick Swardson, or David Spade, as well as newer faces in Sandler's movies - Dan Aykroyd, Steve Buscemi, or Ving Rhames. This Sandler rocks, and even though there is no shortage of toilet humor or final moral lessons that are really far-fetched, this is a comedy that I would gladly watch again. In some time. Drillbit Taylor (2008)

angielski Owen Wilson is not a bad actor, actually I quite like him and I'm glad his suicide attempt failed, because Woody Allen could have chosen him for collaboration. However, "You, Me and Dupree" is not a comedy that I found revolutionary. You might laugh sporadically - well, it is a comedy - but it doesn't leave anything deeper in you. I see a slight parallel with the movie "Superbad". The guys need help. In "Superbad" it is about sex, in "You, Me and Dupree" it is about bullying. Not that they want to bully, but they are being bullied. It's always some nerds who get involved in it. Dupree is the one who is supposed to help them. And so, the trio of losers becomes stars. It doesn't work perfectly, but actually that's the point of the story. The comedy didn't bring anything so interesting, even though someone may appreciate Owen Wilson's naked butt. The comedy is not that funny and actually quite tame. In that aspect, someone like Sandler suits me more. More: http://www.filmovy-denik.cz/2012/04/diar-milovnika-filmu-c-0002-zajimave.html

Druhny (2011)

angielski This title can be discouraging for a guy, especially the Czech title, but even the male generation should not be discouraged. Besides seeing how women can be bitches, what wars they can lead, how crazy they can be, we also watch a good comedy that may not keep you on the edge of your seat every minute, but you will have a good time with it. Because unlike many other works, it does not lack a strong story. This is something it has in common with the movie "Kopačky". "Women Only" is actually about how one of the six friends is getting married. But it's not really about that so much. What got me is the fact that it's mainly about people, their stories, and that even this unique event can be a catalyst for hatred. Annie has the main role in this, and she definitely is not a positive character, but you may even hate her. Annie is simply crazy and she is the one who ruins everything. But in the end, friendship fixes everything. I know it sounds pathetic, but it is presented tastefully in the movie. I also like the film because Chris O'Dowd, aka Roy from "The IT Crowd," appears in it. Melissa McCarthy also draws a lot of attention and she is a revelation. She is vulgar, disgusting, bold, and great. Deserving of an Oscar nomination. More: http://www.filmovy-denik.cz/2012/04/diar-milovnika-filmu-c-0002-zajimave.html

Chłopaki też płaczą (2008)

angielski If any hope was born among comedians, then it is Jason Segel. Not only did he write the script for this film, but he also played the lead role, showed his own naturalness and, above all, made me laugh. This person already captivated me in the series "How I Met Your Mother", was the only bright spot in the film "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", and he even managed to succeed on the big screen with "The Muppets". "The Five-Year Engagement" is an incredibly entertaining film that does not rely on awkward toilet humor, but on humor that is sometimes truly clever, although there is quite a bit of less noble humor as well. I can recommend "The Five-Year Engagement" to anyone who enjoys interesting comedies, good actors, and dislikes awkwardness. Speaking of which, the impression from the film was similar to the subsequent film that I had the pleasure of seeing. That film was "Bridesmaids". Pół na pół (2011)

angielski Some situations in life are simply not easy. You can run, not smoke, eat fairly healthy, but it still won't save you from cancer. This bitch just appears in anyone's life, she's not exactly picky. When Adam, a young man, finds out he has cancer, he is quite surprised. On the other hand, we must realize one crucial thing - the main characters in the movie are Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen, especially the latter is not someone who plays in fundamentally dramatic films. Is it possible to approach the diagnosis of cancer humorously, or at least with a smile? More: http://www.filmovy-denik.cz/2013/02/5050-2011-70.html

Żelazna dama (2011)

angielski Jesus, this was directed by the director who directed that awful film "Mamma Mia!". I've heard those kinds of voices before. But unlike them, I actually liked "Mamma Mia!". Of course, mainly because I like the songs of ABBA and I'm glad they suit modern arrangement as well. But the film was also interesting because of the performances - Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Amanda Seyfried, Stellan Skarsgård, and maybe even Pierce Brosnan. They are capable of giving a good performance and I liked that about them. Meryl Streep returned to the director and deserved an Oscar thanks to her role as Margaret Thatcher. Completely deserved. The film stands and falls with her performance. The other actors support her well, especially Jim Broadbent, who played an old grumpy man, and it suits him. He can evoke the right emotions. And it's mainly the emotions that the director attacks. It's true that without Meryl and great makeup artists (by the way, they also won an Oscar), the film might have been forgettable, but like this, it deserves attention. And for those unfamiliar with history, they will learn something about how important the Iron Lady was for her country. Don't expect a historical film, but a story about a woman who meant well, but ended up with everything on her. Maybe a bit too emotional, but it just works for me. When there's a good actor, they can occasionally divert your attention from an average screenplay. And no, I really don't mind watching old people in a film. Jack i Jill (2011)

angielski I am a stubborn defender of Adam Sandler and I like his movies. Recently, I was interested in "Machos", but also "Funny People". Maybe it was because he softened a bit. But thanks to Jill, he was able to return to his pose, which is annoying for some people. And in this case, it was. Sandler as Jack is fine. He maintains his standard and is also funny. Sandler as Jill is unbearable. He has a terrible voice that is really annoying, and besides, the character itself is worthy of hatred. Sandler probably decided to do what Eddie Murphy did: ruin his career in movies where he plays all the roles. I hope he will recover because I still believe in him, but with another similar movie, he will only kill his promising career, which is already dead to many. By the way, did you notice that Katie Holmes was in the movie? I hardly noticed. Al Pacino is a great actor, and it's nice that he can make fun of himself. But the final scene would have been enough for that. The presence of Johnny Depp was pleasing. When he appeared on the screen, the movie's rating immediately went up by 50%. Sztandar chwały (2006)

angielski I know, I'm not stating any news here, but I just haven't seen all the movies right when they were released. I like Clint Eastwood. Recently, I watched his "Gran Torino" and my jaw dropped. When I was watching "Flags of Our Fathers," my jaw dropped again. This time because of how much the battle scenes resemble those in Steven Spielberg's film "Saving Private Ryan." I wanted to tear apart Eastwood's film, but then I realized I'm not even halfway through yet. You shouldn't give up on Clint too early, because what he lacks in originality in the war scenes, he truly makes up for with the human aspect of the story. And that's the most important thing about "Flags of Our Fathers." Humanity, or maybe inhumanity, the moments when a person becomes a hero without deserving it, and when they face a fall that they might not deserve either. An excellent human story that touched me. If you have Clint in your mind as a patriot, I think here he will show you that he is quite a realist. More: http://www.filmovy-denik.cz/2012/03/diar-milovnika-filmu-c-0001-cista-duse.html
