La Dame dans l'auto avec un fusil et des lunettes (2015)

angielski This film from my favorite French comic book creator is a stylistically interesting exercise, but you'll come away feeling like a lot was said, yet in reality, there's nothing left in you after watching it except for that strange charm of brutality that the film carries.

Hrabina Dracula (1971)

angielski This is the kind of film you want to see mainly as a curiosity, to witness that such films were also made and that they carried the legacy of the vampire count. No matter what we say, this is a film that should rather be named "Countess Bathory," because it has much more in common with that fact/legend. It just doesn't have the right creepy level and not really any interesting storyline.

Šingeki no kjodžin ATTACK ON TITAN: endo obu za wárudo (2015)

angielski If the manga is guided by the same style, then there probably isn't much to look forward to. This really didn't work. You can see it's focused on the visuals, but otherwise, it's incredibly weak. Even the special effects get old after a while. It's a shame because this manga series has such fantastic socio-critical potential that didn't make it into the film at all.

Urodzony sportowiec (1984)

angielski This is such an unbelievably melodramatic and clichéd film that it tries to evoke emotions from you at all costs, to the point of being unbelievable. But it's such a great film that it totally won me over with its concept. It's so exaggerated in places that it's just beautiful. In the end, I didn't even flinch and just watched as it was stretched out until the very final hit. Robert Redford is simply an acting magician.

Fala (2015)

angielski A very pleasant surprise that shows that good disaster movies are not dead yet. I like that the Norwegians focused more on people, their relationships, and their destinies. It's more visceral overall and stronger in that regard. But then when it comes to the rush of water, it loses nothing and it's overwhelming until you want to run away too.

Pierwsza randka Riley (2015)

angielski In addition to the great cartoon, there is a nice short film that beautifully follows what you saw in the feature film. It still has the same humor which is quite concentrated, it continues to play with the characters brilliantly, and it's just fun. But it's a fact that you probably couldn't make many more shorts like this. But who knows?

The Wannabe (2015)

angielski He wanted to be a gangster, so he did everything he could to be one. Or he simply wormed his way into being known, then tried out what it's like to rob someone. And it worked for a while. If it wasn't for Patricia Arquette, I wouldn't even enjoy watching it. The main "hero" is such a bland character that I didn't even want to look at him, and I hoped he would end up sooner the way he eventually did.

The Perfect Guy (2015)

angielski An incredibly boring movie, pretending to be so blasé, and in the end, it's empty and utterly worthless. A kind of wannabe gritty romance where nothing really nasty happens, just a few scenes to make the viewer feel that it's very suspenseful. It’s not. The actors are terrible and so is the shallow script with boring developments.

The Keeping Room (2014)

angielski It's nice to see how trends are coming back. One would think that westerns were long gone, but then came a few gems, with one of the brightest being Tarantino's Django Unchained and suddenly, there's a whole bunch of westerns again. They're different, they're grown up, they're gritty, and I have to say I like it. This is also one of them - from a female perspective.

The Killing Fields (1984)

angielski At first, it seems like just a great performance by Sam Waterston, but this film develops incredibly until you reach the point where it's an immensely powerful drama, both socially and humanly. War is depicted here without embellishments, yet most of the time, we're not even on the battlefield. The impact on the viewer who sees the result is even greater.
