Koszmar miodowego miesiąca (1982)

angielski If you want something mediocre to below average in a slasher film, a film where you can scream when a particular character finally dies, then the American horror film Honeymoon Horror is the right one for you. It really is undemanding and not terribly original, but even so you essentially get what you want. It's not great in terms of quality, but that's not really a detriment, but rather to the film's benefit.

The Witching (2016)

angielski If you're a horror fan, you'll find something in The Witching that might appeal to you. Unfortunately, none of the stories is the imaginary gold that could be dug out of it. Even the hourglass short story doesn't elevate the quality of the film, and instead it only shows for a moment that it could have been better. Then of course the filmmakers fall back into a horrible stereotype that simply doesn't work.

Cell Count (2012)

angielski The horror film Cell Count is quite uneven overall. One minute you'll be stopping yourself from fast-forwarding the film, the next it can grab your attention with what suddenly happens, and the way in which it's done. The film will easily find detractors, but there will be those who will see the potential that Todd E. Freeman has not yet been able to fulfill in his other work.

En las afueras de la ciudad (2012)

angielski Hidden in the Wood’s virtue remains above all the fact that it is a very raw film, much grittier than its American version, which in some ways is much easier to stomach. You can see how in America they are afraid to remake it in a way that would be similar in explicitness to other cinematography. That's why the original in particular stands out - because it wasn't afraid in any respect.

The Toxic Avenger: The Musical (2018) (nagranie teatralne)

angielski I was expecting The Toxic Avenger: The Musical to be alright, but it's actually great! It has modern humor, clever humor, and awkward humor. Yet it all works together and The Toxic Avenger: The Musical is a fun ride from start to finish. And that's no small feat for a production with five actors and some backstage crew. Toxie's coming!

Full Moon High (1981)

angielski The American film Full Moon High is not a horror film in my opinion, but it was an enjoyable comedy in which I liked the actors and I liked how goofy it was in places. It's basically slapstick at times, but it works if you don't expect the horror element, because it's not there, and if the fact that there's a werewolf character isn't good enough for you as a horror film.

Queimada (1969)

angielski A captivating and visually stunning film with incredible camera work and excellent music. And then there's Marlon Brando, who demonstrated his breathtaking acting skills in every role, which only few, if anyone, can match.

The Greasy Strangler (2016)

angielski The Greasy Strangler is simply a film for connoisseurs of bizarre cinema. It's a bit of a slasher, but even more so, it's a romantic drama about a father-son relationship with a woman, but the son isn't too happy about it. The film isn't outright explicit, the cinematography isn't hardcore, it's more about how the characters are led, how strange the story is, and how strange everything that’s happening is. And it works.

The Ecstasy of Isabel Mann (2012)

angielski This attempt to make an Irish horror, which is quite interestingly titled The Ecstasy of Isabel Mann, simply didn't work. It's too amateurish and lacks creativity, and it's too obvious that the filmmakers wanted to cram everything they've seen in other similar films into a horror movie, but they did so higgledy-piggledy. Even some of the would-be artistic attempts don't really work and they end up being more of an eyesore.

Yan nu huan hun (1974)

angielski The Ghost Lovers takes it upon itself to not only scare audiences, but to also entertain them, which is somewhat inappropriate in the theatrical sense. It's too bad, because the theatrical concept here could have easily been to the benefit of the cause. This way you simply get a mediocre drama that has a few horror and few comedy elements rubbing up against each other.
