Basically nothing new that we haven't seen or heard before, but repetition is the mother of wisdom, so there you have it. And it's only good that the creators have done it in such a way that it is comprehensible and clear even for complete morons, while also thematically rich, informatively relatively varied and visually appealing for the rest.

Those were the days when they didn't know how to do comic book stuff yet. If it had the aesthetic of a darker Marvel or normal DC today, it could be a blast. But The Boondock Saints has a bit of a blowhard Ritchie and a bit of a whiny Tarantino, with some solid screenwriting in places, but nothing more. The few interesting moments cannot overcome the utter aesthetic chaos and confusing directorial style. I’d be interested in a remake, because the material does have potential.

A film that defines growing up in the same way like, for instance, Eyes Wide Shut defines human sexuality. All the looks, the spoken and unspoken emotions, the relationships, the break-ups, the moves, the tears – this is the daily routine of most people in the world, and it's good that Linklater handled Boyhood the way he did. That is, 12 years in 150 minutes and with the same actors, this gives the whole a completely different charge that leaves a mark far beyond cinema.

Too scientific and not mainstream enough, or perhaps not graspable enough for classic laypeople. Even so, one cannot but praise the enthusiasm of the creators and the even greater enthusiasm of the scientists who are willing to devote virtually their entire lives to learning about the universe.

Misconstrued. I drowned in the jumble of dialogue, the insanely edited flashbacks and the amount of water everywhere. One star for the unusually depressing Morricone, the other for Depardieu and Polanski.

A valuable documentary that allows us to look at the American-Russian relationship, and also some of the world's problems from a different side than we are used to. Putin comes across as a lucid, sophisticated, clever politician who has the what and the how exactly straight, while not being afraid to answer some of Stone's well-aimed and pressing questions – the question, of course, is whether or not he answered honestly. Oliver balanced relatively well all on the border of what is still tolerable in the dialogue and what could have been too much. Apparently, he made the most of it.

Guy Ritchie seems to be finally maturing as a filmmaker around the age of 50 and has made a relatively restrained, down-to-earth and straightforward heist/inside job gangster film that has its feet on the ground, is still pretty cool and understandably free of the typical sharp humour. Statham without the kicks – a wonder in itself, but one that works surprisingly well, and the action overall is passable. At times it looks like Michael Mann is remaking Heat with a joint in his mouth, drinking Irish whiskey, but OK, as long as it doesn't take itself too seriously, and given that it's actually a very decently made B-movie without much ambition, it's fine.

A delightful comedy that is all about the main acting tandem and their scenes together, full of funny moments and obvious improvisations. Jamie Lee Curtis, in particular, blows the others away and I wouldn't be afraid to call her performance legendary. There's not much point in assessing the story – there's exactly what's needed for no shortage of cracking moments and hilarious gags.

Surprisingly disjointed action flick. At times the very ambitiously conceived action scenes with great visual effects and stunt work are brought to their knees by a cruelly clichéd script that should be about real characters and their motivations in the real world, but instead tells a tale of pseudo-spies and implausible bad guys. So, although it all makes some sense in the end, hardly anyone will want to see this, some great moments notwithstanding, rather austere, dark and too straightforward action movie, where the commando leader has to be black and female to make it all fair, more than once.

Growing up for rednecks, without DiCaprio, but with a fantastic performance by Timberlake, for whom "the older the better" applies like for some of his more famous colleagues. It's a bit saccharine in places, and it's not a tried-and-true older vintage, but thank goodness for any film like this, dealing with the intricacies of ordinary rural life. Still raw and focused enough to satisfy even the moderately demanding viewer who has seen a bit.
