I liked Hunter sequel similarly to the first one. The pacing is perfect, the action is stylish, the visuals are solid and the cast is very very good, featuring Jessica Chastain, Chris Hemsworth, Emily Blunt and Charlize Theron, a great quartet and quite possibly the strongest female line-up in a long time. Story-wise the film could have been more polished, it doesn't offer a proper twist, but again I didn't find it purposefully naive like Gods of Egypt or similar fantasy stuff. I had a good time. 75%

Unfortunately, Alex Proyas is going downhill a director and this film pays the price. Gods of Egypt had quite a lot of potential, since Egyptian mythology is interesting and properly mysterious, but the unnecessary and not very nice looking CGI spoils the impression. At times the film comes across as too naive and everything comes off as it suits the filmmakers, something wise viewers shake their heads at, but I did find some good things. The scene with the riddle, the traps, the big worms, or the seductive “Elektra”. and the likeable “Jaime” not a king slayer this time, but a lion slayer, will certainly please the fans of the series. Fortunately, the film is entertaining enough and there is no boredom, but still it’s quite a grey average. Gerard Butler, who’s good in villain roles, was also fine. 55%

A cool romantic comedy where Rebel Wilson takes care of the humour and succeeds (you don't see such a wacky woman every day). The first half is very above average, I even wanted to write down some of the dialogue, as I found it intelligent and informative. The second half, however, is unnecessarily chaotic and confusing, even the wit plays a minor role, which is a shame, but still decent. 65%.

Zoolander 2: The central plot of the film is who killed Justin Bieber!!! Really? This is probably the biggest failure I've seen in a long time. Everyone overacts and and nobody is funny, on the contrary, I was ashamed of the performances many times. I only laughed about one time and that was with the very first line. Penelope Cruz's English is in places more terrifying than the film itself. Ben Stiller dropped to 0. 1* for the cameos by Susan Boyle and Katy Perry. Poor, barely watchable. 15%.

I didn't expect the film to grab me so thoroughly by the balls throughout and not let go until the heartbreaking finale. I already liked Taron Egerton in Kingsman and here he only confirms his acting and charismatic qualities and pulls the film very high with his performance. Hugh Jackman in an unusual role is great. At the end I was bawling like a baby with emotion and joy. Awesome movie. It's not a 5* just because I was expecting a bigger cannonade of jokes. 85%.

Recent Marvel movies have usually ended up with five stars and from the sequel to the best Marvel movie ever comes a slight disappointment, here it will only be worth 4 stars. Honestly I wasn't too a film similar to The Avengers, (though the new Spider-Man made a very positive impression along with Ant-Man), I was much more comfortable with a dark espionage thriller in the vein of the second one. What's odd though is that Scarlett Witch is perhaps the strongest character in the film, stopping everyone, being everywhere on time, this felt trite in places when she was one of the weaker links in the Avengers. Hawkeye with Black Widow and Vision are useless. It's also strange that we wait almost an hour and forty minutes for the clash of the two main characters, and the film devotes a substantial portion to Bucky (they could avoided it!). As for the action, apart from the occasionally shaky camera work I'm relatively satisfied, there are plenty of good fights, but again no action scene has the kind of juice I'll remember in the future, which is a shame because the lack of goosebumps in films of this calibre is almost unforgivable. Surprisingly the humour doesn't work much either and I found myself getting bored a few times in the beginning, which thankfully improved later on. Satisfied yes, delighted unfortunately no. 75%.

A superb comedy starring the beautiful Cameron Diaz and the shy Ben Stiller, who gave me a few decent laughs. There are loads of scenes I've never seen before and even though the running time is close to two hours, the film doesn't bore, on the contrary, it's reliably entertaining and tickles the diaphragm. 80%

I ignored the film at first and watched it more out of necessity and was pleasantly surprised. I certainly wouldn't be put off by the drama/romantic/historical genres like I was initially, the premise alone is interesting and intriguing enough to fall reliably into the thriller genre. While the film is not as gritty and breathtaking as the description would suggest, the suspense and atmosphere paces perfectly, keeping the viewer concerned for the main characters, who are the likeable Emma Watson and Daniel Brühl. Also worth mentioning is the sleazy Michael Nyqvist, whom you will hate from the first moment. If you like films about camps with a strange regime crossed with a fanatical religious sect you will be satisfied. Story 7/10, Atmosphere 8/10, Gore 1/10, Visuals 7/10, Action 5/10, Suspense 7/10,Humor 5/10. Entertainment 7/10. 75%

At first I put this film off, but in the end it was a pleasant surprise. It's about the music industry, which I'm not very familiar with, but Nicholas Hoult's performance pulls it up, because his choleric nature will entertain you, not to mention the coke and the beautiful women, and most importantly, there are three amazing gore scenes, the last one being one of the best. A good film with an engaging story. I recommend 75%

The surprise of recent times. I didn't think I'd see Bruce Willis in a good movie again, given what he's been doing for the last few years. A captivating rainforest setting, a group of elite marines, a group of Nigerian rebels on their heels, some twist and turns, amazing action, dosed sparingly but very intense, working emotions and empathy, decent pacing and gorgeous visuals. Actually, almost a full score. 85%.
