A film polished to the last detail with legendary British precision! It's as good as The Ipcress File, with a very interesting plot, a brilliant Michael Caine, great dialogue, funny-dry lines, and gradually escalating tension that is so dense you couldn't even cut with a chainsaw. This is basically a first-class espionage film with a really complicated final half-hour, but which is fortunately not confusing or incomprehensible. There's just a lot that happens in it. I give five stars to Funeral in Berlin right now, although I definitely missed something of the plot, too. The next screening of the DVD will definitely fix everything. I look forward to it.__P.S. Yup, it fixed everything.

It's not a bad film, but only two scenes really caught my attention, one of which was at the dining table (the other was the disposal of the tiger). It seemed to me as if David Ayer wanted to combine The Big Red One and The Thin Red Line, but he just couldn't reach that bar with the help of clichés and uninteresting characters. Yet Brad Pitt was 100% suited to the role and it was obvious that he played the tank commander with gusto, and the dirty, muddy atmosphere had a lot going for it as well. But why was it all so long, even though so little happened in it?

A letter to Mel Gibson:__Mel, I want to apologize. I didn't do anything as bad as the bastards who killed your daughter, but still. I was disappointed when I saw this film of yours in the movie theater. Not because of you, but because of the overcomplicated plot, the large cast of characters, and so on. It was simply impossible to navigate through Edge of Darkness... You know this, you were in it (and you were great from start to finish). But now I've brought you home on DVD and put you on the telly... It may well be a poor consolation for you, but I am giving you a fourth star. Edge of Darkness needs to be seen more than once in order to become more immersed in the plot and to take in all the information, of which there is plenty. And Mel, if you ever see him, tell Martin Campbell that he did a great job! He filmed you superbly - he handled the fight in the apartment perfectly and clearly, he did a great job on the scene with the car being shot (you know which one I mean) and he managed to create a delicious ending. Oh, and shake Ray Winston's hand, too. He could have gotten more space, but he was still great. What do you think? Welcome back, Mel, and please show up in one of these movies again soon.

Bender as a thief of the world's most valuable treasures or a "terminator" was perfect, I liked the great time travel and of course the usual Futurama jokes (the Jewish TIE fighter), but I could have done without certain episodes (especially Santa). I enjoyed Bender's Big Score, but Futurama is still better as a series.

The quality of the Futurama movies is dropping. Few jokes, an uninteresting and stupid feminist eco-plot, Wong as a villain is useless. And the opening credits didn't work this time either (they certainly don't match the "yellow submarine" from the previous film).

A fantastic film that only becomes fantastic at the end, when everything makes sense, including the wonderfully warped sets. The restored extended version is a treat, and it's certainly not the last time I'll see it – on the contrary, I think it's only when I see the film a second time that I'll see it in all its glory.

With F. Murray Abraham in the lead role, even sci-fi trash (in the best sense of the word) has almost Shakespearean parameters.

I didn't expect that a story based on Lovecraft (which also stars Crispin Glover) would be such a mess. The screenwriter's attempt to extend the straightforward story failed, the added stuff is more awkward and boring than thrilling. There are a few great scenes, but what can I say, the weakest piece of Del Toro's cabinet so far. The first story that played on Lovecraft was much more Lovecraft than this one.

A very disturbing metaphor of contemporary society (it would be hard to find a more horrific setting than this women's group, to be sure), shot with Juraj Herz-like cinematography and played to perfection by Kate Miccuci – her final look into the camera made me really want to applaud her.

Fans of Lovecraft will feel right at home. An amazing Tim Blake Nelson and a wonderfully written, charmingly old-fashioned story without a moment's hesitation.
