Przełamując fale (1996)
Lars von Trier pushes the envelope again, but unlike Dancer in the Dark, there is a reason for it and it is not an end in itself. Breaking the Waves is a whirlwind of emotions that often sends chills down the spine. And Emily Watson’s performance is perfection itself.

Oczy węża (1998)
The opening is amazing, a 20-minute camera ride following Cage as he greets his buddies on the way into the auditorium, knocks down a thug, gets off the phone and watches the opening of a boxing match. All without a single cut! It is true that after that the film drops in quality and the ending is full of clichés, but De Palma is simply cool and that has to be appreciated.

60 sekund (2000)
Maybe car fans will find something to like about this film, but I still don't believe they won’t get bored. It’s so bland! It isn’t fun, nor is it stupid enough to at least make you laugh. Just boring, despite the presence of the Cage-Jolie duo.

Na krawędzi (1993)
The nerve-wracking opening scene makes you feel so nervous that you are blissfully anxious about what's coming next. Though you won’t see anything as exciting for the rest of the film, it still has to be said that this is a highly above-average action flick, even though the ravages of time have gnawed away at some of the scenes (some of the sets and visual effects are quite dodgy). Stallone's temporary comeback after a string of abysmal comedies was a success. PS: Experienced mountaineers will probably miss the genre classification "comedy" :)

Powiększenie (1966)
I also don't know what this film is actually about, but its mood always gets me, and I always get a reliable chill when the details of that pivotal photograph are revealed. A crime drama? A portrait of the 1960s? It doesn’t matter, what’s important is that it’s beautiful to look at.

Purpurowe rzeki (2000)
Kassovitz successfully conveys the dark atmosphere, and Reno and Cassel are charismatic enough to pull the whole film off just fine. But there are some moments, or rather, entire scenes that are so blatantly ripped-off of Se7en that it’s almost embarrassing. The ending is also contrived and full of clichés. It’s a pity, without that it would have been a very good thriller.

Niekończąca się opowieść III (1994)
This is so bad I wouldn't even include it in our Vomit Screen film club program, which focuses on the worst B-movies. The creators of this shite should be served as an appetizer to the Rockbiter.

The NeverEnding Story II: The Next Chapter (1989)
A prime example of what a sequel shouldn't look like. Wolfgang Petersen, forgive them, for they knew not what they did.

Niekończąca się opowieść (1984)
This is the most beautiful fantasy film I’ve even seen. And the Rockbiter is my idol! If my teeth were like his, I wouldn’t have to go to the dentist.
