Hellraiser: Droga do piekła

The film "Hellraiser: Hellseeker" simply attempted to scramble the viewer's head at the end, but this is one of those endings that you simply do not want to see in a movie. It is not well-written script-wise, nor is it well-handled in terms of direction, so even the fairly interesting characters cannot save it all. The decline in quality thus repeats itself, and Rick Bota's other films that he directed in the series are not a very promising prospect. (16.07.2015)

The longest part of the story was very boring, I couldn’t understand what was going on, the screenwriter made a royal mess out of it. The last 10 minutes or so, after that jumble got sorted out, were quite watchable. By the end it does make a little bit of sense, but it’s not enough to overcome the negative impression, mainly because of the chaste direction and the absence of the bloodiness typical of Hellraiser. Hellseeker feels like a poor imitation of previous entries (both in the detective part and in the twist) that it’s unable to keep any tension. Bottom line: another pointless sequel. The sixth Hellraiser continues the new level of video sequels, so it's a cheap, typical B-grade sequel. Although all the previous films have to be seen that way too. Hellseeker is a bit weaker than the previous installment, Inferno, but Ashley Laurence - Frank's niece, the protagonist of the first two films and a nice reverberation of the original three - is back. The visuals are cold to the point of being depersonalized, and the added eroticism was not a bad thing, but the boring Cenobites were really annoying. I don't mind a sequel in a detective story, it's the fact that the best is left until the end that makes it impossible to talk about a film with a convincing atmosphere. Kirsty deserves a better walk in hell. This is the order in which I like the films overall: Hellraiser 8, Hellraiser 5, Hellraiser 4, Hellraiser 7, Hellraiser 2, Hellraiser 6, Hellraiser 1, Hellraiser 3, Hellraiser 9. (24.02.2011)
