A blood-and-thunder horror yarn from the pen of Edgar Wallace, The Door With Seven Locks stars Leslie Banks as a mass murderer with a penchant for puzzles. He lures several heirs to a fortune to their deaths in his mazelike mansion, which is festooned with cryptic clues leading to the location of a valuable treasure. The British film Chamber of Horrors has potential, but I don't think it was taken advantage of. You have to take into account when the film was created, but I just didn't get the sense that the filmmakers wanted to make a horror film - it was more about making a film that was for the masses. And if that was their goal, they somewhat succeeded, and yet the film doesn't stand out in any significant way.
