In the Bones

In the midst of deep ideological divisions in our country, it is easy to forget how intrinsically connected we all are. Connections shaped by systemic structures, often patriarchal and racist in nature, that were developed hundreds of years ago. In the Bones takes the viewer to Mississippi, the state where women have the fewest rights and protections, and draws connections between regional policies, particularly around equal pay and abortion, that have the potential to affect women and children across the nation. These connections are unearthed through collaging together intimate moments in the unfolding lives of a cast of characters in three distinct regions of the state; The Gulf Coast, the rural Delta and the State Capitol.
