Jane Marple (Angela Lansbury) is thrilled when two glamorous Hollywood actresses, Marina Rudd and Lola Brewster, arrive in her quaint English village to shoot a movie. It's soon apparent, however, that the two actresses loathe each other. At a welcome reception, Marina engages in conversation with a longtime fan and is momentarily distracted. Soon afterward, the fan collapses and dies, poisoned by a drink intended for Marina. (oficjalny tekst dystrybutora)

angielski The Mirror Crack’d will appeal to the viewer mainly thanks to the plethora of stars who give the film adaptation of the novel by the "Queen of Crime" a whole new dimension. Angela Lansbury certainly caught inspiration here for how to be the supremely nosy amateur investigator who  would later "write murders". If you watch carefully, you will no trouble discovering the identity of the perpetrator, though the motive itself was (at least to me) quite shocking. I was surprised – and in a nice way – that the script included a number of sarcastic lines that one would not expect much in a film like this. The only thing that bothered me while watching it was the inappropriately chosen musical score. P.S. "Lola, dear, you know, there are really only two things I dislike about you. - Really? What are they? - Your face!" ()
