The first half of the season was a delightful surprise for me. That's why I was all the more disappointed when the creators couldn't maintain that same level of quality in the second half. Even though I never explicitly mentioned it in my episode reviews, I have to admit, the opening titles really caught my attention. Despite things taking a bit of a nosedive, especially in the second half, the Austrians managed to keep me hooked. Sure, there were some logic gaps, but overall, I found myself enjoying it much more than I anticipated. / Lesson learned: Maybe steer clear of the Tyrolean Alps; the locals are a bit peculiar. Nothing has really surprised me in the first episode, except for that little bag on the repaired motorcycle. It wasn't a bad start; the setting in the Austrian Alps is beautiful, and the main heroine seems immune to the cold thanks to her job. So far, it has caught my interest, though the ending raised some slight concerns for me. I'm beginning to see where the plot might be heading, and the addition of the hard-working Syrian felt a bit too deliberate. / Lesson learned: Grandfathers shrink after death. (20.02.2024)

I'm starting to feel like I might really enjoy this series; I hope my excitement isn't premature. Oddly enough, what engages my mind most in this series is why everyone addresses the protagonist by her last name. So, I've made it through the first half, and I have to say, it's been quite a pleasant surprise from the Austrian Alps. When I first started the series, I had my reservations, but after three episodes, I can confidently say that this is not at all what I was expecting. Initially, I thought I'd be rooting for the main heroine, but now I'm not so sure. The plot has taken a sharp turn in a direction I didn't anticipate. Honestly, I'm not complaining. I was also struck by how easily the human body can be manipulated, which got me thinking about how you can depart from our world in a way that aligns with your profession. / Lesson learned: Air is pretty essential for survival. I'm hoping the Austrians haven't hit a creative wall and that this stumble was just a one-off that won't become a pattern. This time around, the plot didn't quite win me over, feeling like it was stuck in neutral rather than moving forward, while the creators introduced a side plot that held about as little interest for me as the protagonist. The fifth episode was far from dull, that's for sure. I have mixed feelings about it, though. On one hand, there was another intriguing twist in the story that I found myself quite enjoying. On the other hand, it felt like a jumbled, illogical mess that left me feeling a bit desperate at times. But hey, who knows, if I came from one of the many Tyrolean mountain valleys, maybe it would've struck me as pretty cool. / Lesson learned: An infusion tube has many uses. 3*- (22.02.2024)

The finale didn't quite hit the mark for me, but I'll give credit where it's due — the sixth episode was a step up from the rather illogical one that came before it. Even though the ending had its flaws, it didn't outright offend or annoy me. I was just left wishing the creators could have maintained the quality of the first three episodes from the first half of the season. / Lesson learned: Frau Schönborn kept bringing to mind the commander of the orc army during the siege of Minas Tirith.
