angielski The Devil's Arithmetic from Showtime is an adaptation of a children's book addressing the Holocaust. The author, Jane Yolen, herself a Jew, first established herself as a children's book writer before gaining the courage to tackle such a personal topic. The Devil's Arithmetic was nominated for a Nebula award in 1988 and won the National Jewish Book Award. Similarly, a decade later, the film succeeded, with its message being clear to everyone. It is a typical television movie suitable for history lessons and I wouldn't really have any other expectations for it. The goal is to engage teenagers, to deliver an important story to them in a way that captivates them emotionally and doesn't leave them indifferent. Additionally, Kirsten Dunst and Brittany Murphy are excellent in their roles. ()
