Ospiti lowers the tone of Garrone's previous works in order to carry out a falsely nice approximation to the everyday tragedy of two Albanese migrant boys in their constant and tireless search of a door to hope. From the relationship between them, and with other members of the local community in Rome they interact with, problem presentation is introduced here as a matter related to the integrating will of society. The conflicts between the boys are shown as a side story within the difficult balance life as an involuntary tragicomedy strikes. Keeping the attitude that a better future is possible is presented here as the solution and the perfect trap at the same time, one they can't even think of escaping for their own survival and mental health.
