Terra di mezzo

The hardships different migrant communities go through is the engine that keeps Terra di mezzo running. With the migrant situation in his country as background, the director hints at the deep frustration of people of different origins, age and reasons to leave behind the lands they were born in. They all implicitly converge towards the same conclusions while they wait imperturbable on the sides of the road others travel through. The hopes deposited in the trip, in fleeing towards a place that held the promise of improvement have been betrayed by an undeniable reality that devours any chance to prosper. A cul-de-sac of a situation, without beginning or end, presented to the audiences almost as a Kafquesque predestination. (Gijón International Film Festival)
