Opisy(1)

The last wartime film by director Veit Harlan is about the heroic fight of the citizens of Kolberg against Napoleon's army during the Prussian-French War. Joseph Goebbels believed that the brave resistance of the city's defence would mobilise German civilians. This colour epic did not have the time to incite them: it premiered in late January of 1945 and reached only a small number of cinemagoers. (Summer Film School)

angielski Considering that this was the 4th color film of the flamboyant Kristina Söderbaum during the war, which was half of the color production of the time, it is safe to speak of her as the Queen of Agfacolor. Her red-headed competitor Marika Rökk, like Hans Albers, made only two color films. So what does this all amount to? First and foremost, it's primarily something special, and secondly, it's a pleasant surprise that it's actually an enjoyable blockbuster. ()
