Stephen Collins is an ambitious politician. Cal McAffrey is a well-respected investigative journalist and Stephen's ex-campaign manager. En route to work one morning, Stephen's research assistant mysteriously falls to her death on the London Underground. It's not long before revelations of their affair hit the headlines. Meanwhile a suspected teenage drug dealer is found shot dead. These (apparently unconnected) events expose a dangerous habit within modern government of dancing too closely with the corporate devil. angielski Not only did the American feature-length six-year-younger brother live up to the original, it surpassed it. It’s surprising that although Yates had four more hours to work with, nothing extra happened. What’s more surprising is that the characters seem more sophisticated in the US version. And apart from the central duo, almost all the characters are so sidelined, that you begin to wonder why they appeared at all. And the add to things, after nicely building up the atmosphere, step by step over five hours, in the last episode most of the tension and stories just fizzled out. It seems like it’s missing a seventh episode “the days following". The main storyline however is excellently inventive and the Simm/Morrissey duo carry everything. The development of their relationship and their scenes together are the main reason why this works and why to give this version priority. ()
