Obcy z głębin w dramatyczny i oszałamiający sposób przedstawia relację z serii ekspedycji w głąb hydrotermalnych otworów w oceanie, gdzie bardzo gorąca i zmineralizowana woda daje schronienie najdziwniejszym zwierzętom na Ziemi – metrowym dżdżownicom ze krwistoczerwonymi ślepiami, ślepym białym krabom i zdumiewającej ilości białych krewetek. Wszystkie te stworzenia walczą między sobą o jak najlepszą pozycję przy gorących gejzerach. The promising potential of Cameron's passion for filmmaking and diving at the same time held high expectations. Yet it's rare that I come across a film that feels so empty and devoid of substance. That is exactly the case with this IMAX adventure. The idea that if we want to explore the universe, we must first explore our own planet is notorious, and thus Cameron brings nothing new to the table. The visual aspect of the 3D effects also falls short, as the underwater shots are often blurry. The only positive aspect that remains is the excellent musical accompaniment by Jeehun Hwang, whose synthesizers can bring life even to the most boring camera shots. But I'm not gonna sit in the movie theater for the soundtrack, am I? During the last shot, I had the irresistible thought of whether it would be better if Cameron had remade The Abyss in the same format...
