Imagine sitting and being fed with delicious tidbits just like the lazy pigeons who are brought sweets from the best bakery every day by an old lady. What a life that would be! Especially when you are a scrawny and poor Parisian patrolman with an empty stomach, such a vision can enchant you. You desire this so much that you simply become a pigeon and you peck and peck until you can barely move. But what if a cat suddenly appears, a cat for whom such a fat, gawky pigeon is an easy prey? A short metaphorical film by famous Canadian animator, Sylvain Chomet (the creator of such critically praised films as The Triplets of Belleville and The Illusionist) is just as enchantingly beautiful as it is merciless and distressing. angielski Sylvain Chomet is a genius, a Renaissance artist, a master of animation and a man with endless fantasy. His stories have particularly strange humor, a melancholic atmosphere and, btw, they are original and also perfect in all thinkable respects. Including his inclination to extremely likeable characters in the form of tubby animals. And this also applies to the preceding short The Triplets of Belleville. It doesn’t matter whether you’re watching a horror dream sequence or a clever plan for finding food. Chomet entertains you every moment. True, his style isn’t for everybody, but what real artist is loved by all? ()
