angielski After Heimat, no one could doubt that Zarah Leander's star was modeled after Garbo and Dietrich, since each of these immortals had their peaks in the rewrites of Hermann Sudermann's novels. The novel "Es War" (1894) was chosen for Garbo, resulting in one of her best silent films, Flesh and the Devil (1926). The novel "Das hohe Lied" (1908) was chosen for Dietrich and was the basis for her first Hollywood triumph without von Sternberg, The Song of Songs (1933). And for Zarah Leander the drama Heimat (1893) was chosen, compared to the best works of Dumas Jr. What more can I say? Indulge yourself, either watch each film separately or as a loose trilogy of specific star modeling. One of the ultimate rewards will be Zarah singing an aria from Christoph Willibald Gluck's "Orpheus and Eurydice." ()
