The Westend Sulpho chemical plant burns down and the general director is found dead in his office. Investigation finds out that director general Incze co-operating with an accomplice, a ministerial counsellor took a loan and when investigation began with regard to this, he put fire on the plant by the secretary of the factory committee, a long time traitor of the workers, in order to clear evidence. His murderer, however, is suspected to be engineer Vermes, who stood in constant fight with Incze. Asztalos Mária, the secretary of Incze suddenly stands beside Vermes and the new order, and helps the police in framing the ministerial counsellor Galgóczy, who is the real murderer.
