The forfeited property of the Garamvölgyis now belongs to Knight Ankerschmidt, the Austrian General participating in the suppression of the Hungarian freedom fight. For reconciliation the knight is about to marry his daughter with the freedom hero just released from prison but suffering from amnesia, Garamvölgyi Aladár. Therefore he orders to kill the secret lover of Hermin and compels the girl to be his obeying tool. When the Knight wants to be a national hero by causing a natural disaster on purpose, Aladár, who has seemed to be just a toy in his hands now revolts. The Knight lets him be killed. His suitable supplement is the Hider, made boneless, accepting everything without conditions.
