In the Mecsek mountains, the pianist Mátrai Péter meets Barbara, the banker Bogáti's wife, who fainted in the storm. Péter takes her home with him, attempts to revive her and surrounds her with care. They fall in love, but her guilty conscience draws her back to her family. Éva, Barbara's stepdaughter would like to put an end to the love-affair between Barbara and Péter, and even pretends being the target of the famous artist's emotions. Meanwhile, Barbara is trying to break with Péter. She falls ill, and fever-ridden, asks for her husband's forgiveness. Bogáti forgives her, and Mátrai decides to no longer disturb the peace of the family, and even though he respects Éva's love for him, he travels abroad. (oficjalny tekst dystrybutora)
