Csepel, 1945. The Csűrös family, in addition to their three children, give accommodation to the orphaned Jóska, although they themselves struggle with difficult circumstances. The boy lends a helping hand in the factory during the days. Besides the Csűrös family, Jóska is especially friendly with Schmidt Jóska, and the man gives him a trumpet as a present. The Telcss have recently lost their child, and the mother cannot overcome the tragedy. Mr. Telcs wishes to adopt a boy. Initially the Csűrös family resists them, but neediness forces them to consent. They hope that Jóska will be well cared for in the home of the well-off textile trader. Mrs. Telcs provides him with everything, but the boy cannot get accustomed to his new home. One night he gathers his few belongings and escapes to the factory. Schmidt would accomodate him, but Mrs. Csűrös does not let him. Jóska finds his way home. (oficjalny tekst dystrybutora)
