angielski The idea of taking the exhausted core of the Enterprise crew on a trip back in time was the best thing that producer Harve Bennett and screenwriter Nicholas Meyer could think of after the botched Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. In terms of Star Trek as a whole, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home is extremely lightened, exaggerated, full of top-of-the-line gags and well-built situations (Chekov looking for "emerikn nuklijrr vesls" during the Cold War is the pinnacle). The story is basically pleasantly crazy and by the numbers, so that there is something to draw humorously-exciting escapades from. The chemistry of the crew is chirping like during the holidays, Leonard Rosenman's soundtrack is very different (in a good way) and if it weren't for the terribly long ending, The Voyage Home would definitely be a flawless comedy ride from the "time-travel" family. Unfortunately, this is probably the last major success of the original crew, but again... thanks to how different it is from the previous ones, it's worth it. ()

angielski Free Willy against a backdrop of an agitational “flower-power" space opera with warping and time travel? And why ever not? This is in a comic vein from the beginning, and very successful in the first half, here and there as good as the Czechoslovak The Visitors. Unfortunately, sometime after the infiltration of the Enterprise this breaks into a farce. Which is nowhere near as awful as the ending which suddenly discards any hint of humor and begins to take itself deadly seriously. So all of a sudden this good comedy becomes a huge tragedy. angielski Guessing is not in my nature. Spock coolly and slyly delivers lines, Kirk becomes enraged, and in a pleasantly 80s spirit, he flirts with the biologist and Star Trek gets inspiration and with it, fortunately, quality. Paradoxically, though, where a taxi driver almost runs over an admiral, they turn Čechov into a spy, and McCoy curses at doctors. All of this puts together the best episode, but at the same time, it makes one wonder if a similarly inventive trip can be qualitatively repeated. ()

angielski I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this movie. I'm not a big fan of time travel stories, and in the case of "Star Trek," it all sounded strange to me, but here they managed to combine humor, message, and familiar characters into a whole that is entertaining and functional, and you won't even mind the strong ecological message that comes with it.
