Samotne serca

Zwiastun

Opisy(1)

Scenariusz filmu powstał w oparciu o prawdziwe wydarzenia z lat 40-tych XX wieku. Martha udaje siostrę Raymonda, a kiedy ten zdobywa zaufanie samotnych wdów, wspólnie mordują je i okradają. Dwaj detektywi, z Nowego Jorku, Elmer C. Robinson (John Travolta) i Karol Hildebrandt (James Gandolfini) rozpoczynają śledztwo. Szybko orientują się, że mają do czynienia z seryjnymi mordercami. Elmer ma dodatkowe osobiste powody, żeby za punkt honoru postawić sobie pojmanie morderców. (Monolith)

angielski Well-directed, occasionally even unconventional in terms of plot, but I couldn't understand what the film was supposed to give me. Noir alternates with black comedy, one-liners with brutality, and when the ending burns everything down, I can only shake my head. Nevertheless, it is a snappy detective story, mainly driven by Travolta, who, despite the treacherous script full of clichéd lines, squeezes out only the best from himself. ()

angielski A solid atmospheric crime drama with a very good John Travolta, a balding Jared Leto and a chilling Salma Hayek. Like most true stories from that era, this one is a bloodbath. ()

angielski A relatively heterogeneous crime story that may not captivate with its simple and straightforward plot, but does impress with the contrast it offers to the viewer. For a moment, we see an almost retro crime story full of tough cops, and a minute later, we see a mentally disturbed couple killing women and children in often quite brutal ways. Lonely Hearts is certainly not a bad film, it has a decent cast, but unfortunately, it fails to touch the heart. Travolta's character is downright artificial, his emotional issues are unnecessarily highlighted and unbelievable. The emotional bond with his son is also poorly portrayed, and there are some question marks hanging over the murderous duo as well. It's not a bad project, but I understand why it's missing from cinemas. It still feels closer to a TV production. ()

angielski If for nothing else, the scene between John Travolta and Salma Hayek makes this film very much worth seeing. But don't worry, it's excellent throughout, it just has a few slower (but not boring) parts. ()
