Olga and Márta take possession of the old family estate after the political transition. Márta and Viktor arrive from abroad, Olga and her daughter come from Budapest in order to spend the summer there and have the house renovated. The strange memories of their childhood come alive. Viktor and Olga fall in love with each other. Uncle Gábor, one-time friend of the family, arrives and moves into the chapel to paint. The general practitioner disentangles the old tragedy: the mother denounced the father in the fifties as she was in love with Uncle Gábor, and later committed suicide. The jealous Márta, the daughter of Uncle Gábor, disappears forever in the mist of the park, pursuing a phantom. She drowns in the lake as her mother did. (oficjalny tekst dystrybutora)
