Sandor slash Ida

Films about adolescence and first love have already produced a lot in world cinema; it is one of the most common subjects overall. This film has the proven model of the unequal couple - she is a seasoned city girl sweeping through discos and fashion boutiques, while he is an introverted loner who dedicates all his time to studying ballet. Seemingly, nothing connects them, but as is often the case, by chance and through the scriptwriter's intention, the destinies of this incongruous pair intersect at one point, and through a series of misunderstandings and unlucky situations, a strong emotional bond begins to grow. It's certainly not an exceptional film, but it scores points with its cast, especially Aliette Opheim, who is attractive not only as a model but surprisingly, can also act decently and deserves to get another film opportunity. Additionally, the screenwriter manages to maintain a certain level despite the presence of certain indispensable clichés and does not unnecessarily pander or include logical gaps or miraculous plot twists. Perhaps only Ida's lifestyle, framed by endless parties, and purchases of makeup, alcohol, cigarettes, and clothing, is somewhat expensive considering that her mother is mentally ill and has not been working for a long time. The divorced father somewhere in the distance is probably unusually generous and is at least a manager by profession... Overall impression: 60%. (31.07.2009)
