angielski I don't often use such comparisons, but this is, in short, the role of Waldemar Matuška's life. No matter what anyone thinks, Matuška demonstrates perfect acting in Miláček, lending Duroy a wide range of expressions and managing to evoke so many believable emotions with a single look or a change in voice position. You have no problem believing in him to seduce any woman he wants to seduce (for me, the scene in the church is the best). He does not play a downright negative, lustful male who just uses women and then throws them away, but rather a tragically romantic hero who just wants more and more. The two-hour runtime is not a hindrance at all, because the whole thing is full of musically and lyrically absolutely great songs and also verse dialogues that are not recited but rather flow quite naturally. Matušek's partners are also perfect (his duets with Nadia Urbánková and Miluška Voborníková should be better known), whilst the male cast is of course dominated by Miloš Kopecký. The sets are mostly economical but impressive, the costumes are beautiful, and Roháč's direction (reminiscent in places of the more elaborate clips from Návštěvní den Miloslava Šimka a Jiřího Grossmanna v Semaforu) manages to make the most of everything.___P.S. The fact that I don't have a single complaint about Hana Zagorová is a testament to how much I like Miláček. ()
