Dværgen

The film "Dværgen" gives a slightly surreal impression, but there is still a basic storyline. It seems like light erotica, but then suddenly cruelty is shown, as well as a focus on a few hardcore shots. It's truly just a few, but it's enough. This is not a film for everyone, but if you do watch it, it will definitely leave some impression on you. "Dværgen" is about human cruelty and it is explicitly presented. (05.12.2015)

This is the movie where you were expecting a disgusting Nordic exploitation B-movie but then found yourself watching a procedural drama about walking upstairs, picking up door stops, and taking off socks (and the extremely stupid plot had suddenly been stretched out for 95 minutes). While watching the movie, I was feeling utterly sorry for Torben Bille - there were a lot of stairs he had to climb on crutches during the making of it. However, in order to not just speak ill of it, in many of the excruciatingly extended erotic scenes, for some reason I started recalling the "amazing" time spent watching Blood Sucking Freaks. And I certainly will never forget the absolutely captivating opening title sequence with that totally insane theme music (I mean like it was really, REALLY bizarre). The Sinful Dwarf is a cute, perverted guilty pleasure. The only fault to find here is the overacting and inane dialogue. Otherwise, it is a proud euro trash masterpiece of a B-movie. Don’t expect much blood or gore; there are no murders. The Sinful Dwarf (the character, not the film) is not evil. He’s just perverted. All he wants is nudity, sex and depravity. The uncut version contains a few minutes of pure porn shots with a very different coloring, which sticks out like a sore thumb but, on the other hand, lends the movie the unique charm of unscrupulous exploitation smut, made more interesting by the poetics of childish innocence in the form of mechanical toys.
