On a gloomy day a young man called Márk sets out with his briefcase for the station, in order to get on a train. At the station a pretty girl, wearing a beret and lace gloves, is waiting, she lights a cigarette, and before, at the end of the film, she puts out the match on the sole of her shoe, unbelievable things happen to both of them. Márk falls off the train at full speed, and, participating in a post-mortem examination, he sees again the girl with the beret, whom he meets several times later on, finding her very much alive. The local museum of the little town owns the footprint, cast in gold, of a saint from the 6th century, which, stolen by a gang, passes from hand to hand. Inspector Kémer has Márk expelled from the town. Márk is again at the station: we will never know what our fate is. (Mafilm)
