Antíku

Somehow it was so good to see these actors together. I mostly know them from more recent work and otherwise, so it was fun to see them in roles like this. Everyone from the candy store Antique had a mysterious past, everyone brought something to the table (even the customers); sometimes it was too cliched, or predictable, but it was also unique and completely personal. It was interesting to slowly uncover what was behind the characters until they seemed to have depth :-) Plus the last episode was handled really interestingly – I'm not disappointed at all with the ending (as so often happens). It's not a romantic comedy, nor is it an action sports thriller or anything like that. It's just a glimpse into a certain time in people's lives. And it was done nicely (with a few exceptions). Bonus: you get to learn a little bit about cupcakes, too. (28.08.2011)
