Jim (Zachary Knighton) i Grace (Sophia Bush) wyruszają w podróż. Ich droga wiedzie głównie przez tereny pustynne. W pewnym momencie, nocą, w strugach deszczu zatrzymuje ich autostopowicz (Sean Bean). Zabierają go ze sobą. Nie wiedzą jednak, iż w takim towarzystwie ta podróż nie może skończyć się dobrze. Film jest klasycznym filmem drogi, która w amerykańskich produkcjach zawsze wiedzie na południe kraju, przez słabo zaludnione, bezkresne pustynie. (Kino Świat)

Another entirely unnecessary remake. It goes by pretty quickly, but the lack of thrilling moments and logical character behaviour makes The Hitcher a mediocre film at best – and that's only in the stronger moments.

Solid thriller, sufficiently dynamic, bloody, and relentless to captivate for about 90 minutes, with well-staged car accidents and a superb Sean Bean, he plays the killer role perfectly. The duo of teenagers doesn't offer anything innovative, but surprisingly, it's not too disruptive either. As a one-off, it's quite satisfying. If it weren't for the strong original, it could have been above average. I quite enjoyed it and didn't expect much, the atmosphere works, and technically, the film is on an excellent level.
